You could say that Liz was born into the communications industry. A native New Yorker raised by journalist parents 25 miles east of the city that never sleeps, Liz later found herself back in NYC at Columbia University, where she earned her Art History undergraduate degree while discovering her passion for journalism with Columbia University's television station. Right after, she enrolled in Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications, from which she received her M.S. in Broadcast Journalism and Videography. Writing, editing, production and on-air reporting are just some skills that Liz sharpened while at university and still uses to this very day.

In her numerous years at the helm of Kobak Communications, Elizabeth has produced television newscasts (most recently for News 12 in the Bronx and Brooklyn), reported on her favorite sport ever (!) tennis during the US Open and has even crossed over to "the dark side" as a public relations professional - although, she's more than open to expanding her portfolio in both communications areas as she appreciates both “sides” equally. Some of Liz's journalistic work has appeared on various television networks, WBEZ.org and in the following publications: FoxNews.com, usopen.orgWorld Tennis MagazineNew York Tennis MagazineZINK Magazine, numerous music publications, BizBash, SportsBusiness Daily, Fairweather, Healthyfamiliesamerica.orgContently and more. Liz has successfully gotten her clients coverage in The New York Times (for the Ultimate Tennis Showdown during the quarantine and Il Mulino New York, on separate occasions); People magazine for the latter client and a multitude of other for the Ultimate Tennis Showdown, for which she worked on the comms team in rolling out a plan that earned the tennis league and its players hundreds of thousands of new followers. On the PR side for UTS, Liz created and edited PPT presentation decks that pitched to (and later accepted by) Tennis Channel, Eurosport and many other targeted sports channels.

Liz has personally been featured on Tennis Channel, in Tennis Magazine, NewsdayNY1 News, the New York Daily News and USTA.com among other major media outlets. But it’s the philanthropic work as a volunteer for the West Side Tennis Club in an effort for others to stand in the limelight makes her work feel that much more rewarding; since becoming a member of the West Side Tennis Club in 2016, Liz spearheaded news coverage of the Little Mo Championships (local players featured in Newsday as well as the Director of Racquet Sports for the Club), volunteered on the Nominating Committee in an effort to select the next year’s slate of board members and has written articles for the Club’s newsletter on behalf of the Archives Committee.

During this incredibly difficult time during quarantine, Liz picked up one of her main hobbies from growing up: playing the violin. It’s been her mission to entertain via violin those who had become sick from COVID-19, with one tribute performance making it onto NY1.

Tennis competitions have brought Liz all over the world (she currently has a Universal Tennis Rating of 10, which many top NCAA Division 1 players have), from the pre-blue courts in Melbourne Park to the magical green grass at Wimbledon. Despite having suffered what many deemed career-ending injuries at the tender age of 18, Liz had a fairly recent resurgence on the senior circuit. For her achievements in playing tennis and teaching it, the Professional Tennis Registry's (PTR) named Liz its 2014 Female Player of the Year award after her win at the 2013 USTA National Women's Grass Court Singles title. You can still catch Liz on-court at the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, the former site of the US Open. She very much enjoys teaching tennis, too, and feels grateful for all of the opportunities that tennis has afforded her.

In addition to creating effective multimedia stories, Liz keeps her hands full with a slew of hobbies and recreational activities, which include but are not limited to playing lots of tennis and the violin, writing music and singing it and spending time with loved ones - especially her little Mi-Ki pup, Clio.
